Classes at Santa Barbara Jewelry Arts Studio are taught by experienced, friendly jewelry artists in our community.  Our current staff include the generous talents of:

Gary Elkins

Gary Elkins received his BA in Art from CSU Long Beach and his MEd in technology from Azusa Pacific University. In over 37 years as an educator at Carpinteria High School and SBCC,, Gary has taught a wide variety of Art courses, including drawing and painting, ceramics, computer graphics, multimedia, and 3D design/jewelry. His life-long interest in metals and jewelry began while studying at CSU Long Beach. He has taught jewelry classes for more than 15 years at the high school level. Gary also studied jewelry making at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and has continued to expand his skills/expertise in SBCC Continuing Education jewelry courses.
